Dramarama

Just when I thought everything has finally begun to fall into place, drama happens. I've been trying hard to start afresh on the right foot by making a lot of wrong decisions which I thought were right. So now I look back at all that I've done and I've decided not to show any remorse.

I have made some wrong decisions.

Wrong.

I made the right decisions. It's the wrong way to think, but the right way to win. Life is about decisions. Whatever decision I will or am about to make, it will only be the one I could make. Otherwise I would have made a different one. Everything that I do, I was given a choice.

I choose to be the person I want to be.

Who are you going to be?

A young man worked as a runner in an advertising firm. One Day he said to his manager, "I'm leaving. I'm going to be a drummer."

The manager said, "I didn't know you played the drums."

He replied, "I Don't, but I'm going to."

A few years later that young man played in a band with Eric Clapton and Jack Bruce, and it was called Cream, and the young man's name was Ginger Baker.

He became what he wanted to become before he knew he could do it.

He had a goal.

  1. Hmm I'm confused. I'm not sure if I understand it correctly: by saying it's the wrong way to think but the right way to win, you mean you think the decision is not something that you want in your mind, but it's a way to find breakthrough from the disruption and abnormality bring forth by that decision? But you mention that you choose to be the person you want to be?

But on the story of Ginger Baker, I guess it's different for every person. Having failed too many times, I feel I don't have what it takes to be what I want to be. I think I lack some qualities that the others have, and I couldn't build the qualities within myself.

    1. Darling, in simpler terms I am just saying there are actually no wrong or right decisions in life. They are just choices you make that will eventually lead you to the path you set for yourself, not others. The journey might me slow, or fast but you will never know. Whatever it is, it WILL get you THERE.

I simply left my answer ambiguous because I have yet not discovered the right phrase to describe who I really am. I think I am actually quite a number of things put together. Miniature complexity, but for now, I just AM. (grins)

Paul's concept was to help us look at the world in a refreshing way. That many successful people out there are the ones who usually make decisions that are thought to be wrong, bad, radical or just plain dangrous. Everyone wants an exciting life, but most people are afraid to take the bull by the horns. So they take the easy way, they live their excitement through other people. Associating themselves with famous rebels like John Lennon, Andy Warhol, Vivienne Westwood and so forth and gradually some of their glamour dust rubs off on them.

For your case, it's not because you lack the qualities that others have. You are simply taking it the easy way. You're playing safe. You look to others for approval when these individuals are each unique with their fare share of wrong decisions in life. They are not you. You just gotta start listening to that fearless voice that we all have within. The voice that you know so well, the one that always get you into trouble, the one that's forever making the decisions whom everyone would immediately disagree or cannot conform to.

    2. Aww thank you, CP! That explains a lot—now I understand. =)

This post is really inspiring and it serves as a really good thinking ingredient for me. Plus, it comes at the right time for me. Thank you for such a timely and inspiring post.

But for my case, I think you probably don't know me well enough. I made some really adventurous decisions for myself at a really huge cost. But I'm starting to feel it's time for me to give in to reality. It sucks but who knows I can make a glorious comeback in the future~ I'm giving in but not giving up!

In any case, thanks for the post and advice. =))

  3. why are u acting like this? , i tot u also admitted we are similiar rite , u said u were a closeted racist . I am somewhat similar , i support chinese only . I mean ur the one that is a pure chinese , dun worry , be proud of it , were not like the rest of the fakers jboy and tuls and rotiboy . Its ok to have courage and admit that were the best . I mean am i saying something wrong ? i am just saying that in clubs and supermarkets , we are dominant in looks .....

thats all , i dont suck up like tuls and jboy and admit they like other races . i am like u , courageous a bit. its no harm stating the obvious and saying that we are better looking then other races . I mean im just saying compared to nasi lemak and chappati , compared to us dim sum ?!!!

i liked ur bravery in stating the obvious . stay courageous , its ok to be chinese

    1. Didchu notice that I no longer carry that claim? That's because I did a self analysis and realised I have used the wrong term to describe myself. It's pretty sexual really. I am sexually attracted to the outlook features of Chinese lads and I hold no prejudice against other races. They are simply put, not my preference. And I don't like to be rude, it's offensive and I think you're being very rude to jboy, tuls and rotiboy.

I do not agree with you on Chinese being better looking than the rest. One stands out in the crowd because he is unique, not because he is Chinese. You get what I mean?

You need to widen your mind when you make serious statements dude!

That being said. Thank you for praising on my bravery. And yes, I am proud to be Chinese.

  4. hey, hindsight is always 100% clear. but when it comes to making decisions, everything is right at the point in time when we make that decision, although it might not be so when we get more information, learn more things about the issue, etc.

so, ya,... there is really nothing absolutely right or wrong. it boils down to whether it is right, with whatever info you have at the time you made that decision. importantly, you have to be able to sleep with that decision you've made - i.e it's a decision that is ethical by your standards.

and on hindsight, if it is a wrong decision, that what's important is to reflect, learn and move on. no use blaming etc cos in the end, the decision made at that point in time is with the best intentions and best intended outcome.

not sure if i am writing nonsense here... heh heh... take care cp.

ps, i noted your title reads immachinesprick, is there double mm deliberate? cos previously if i recall correctly, it used to be iamachineseprick... :P

  6. I'm trying to pursue really hard on what I want now too. Let's hope the next 6 weeks are not that taxing on me.

And yes, never regret your choices, just fix them if they turn out wrong.

Like what my physics psycho friends say: When Life gives you Shit, you make Methane out of It.
